A little self reflection / Kalispell Portrait Photographer

I bet you are expecting some sort of deep, philosophical reflection in this blog post. Something meaningful about portraits, and how they help define who we are…

NOPE!

Several weeks ago, I took some self portraits using my remote and tripod, and wanted to share some thoughts/some funny images from the session.

First off: self portraits are WEIRD! I feel pretty confident posing my clients, but when it’s my turn to get in front of the camera, I felt so awkward and strange! It did get a little bit better the longer I was shooting, but still a little strange.

Secondly: postpartum hair regrowth is a trip! I have so many strange lengths of hair on my head right now, and the wind was not doing me any favors. But the resulting images gave me a good chuckle.

Lastly: pushing myself out of my comfort zone is truly what is going to help me grow. I want to be able to serve you, my clients the best that I can, and making sure that I feel comfortable doing what I ask my clients to do is a key step in that growth process.

For your viewing pleasure, please enjoy these self portraits, including my favorite one at the end! 😂 (take special note of my lack of right arm, and my crazy hair fin!)
